JUMP  BLUE

Directed by Nicolas Jackson & Steve Bond for BBC Radio 3
Music by Aaron May

"On 2 August 2015, the great Russian freediver Natalia Molchanova disappeared in Spanish territorial waters. Through sound, text and music, Jump Blue takes us to extraordinary depths in this immersive re-imagining of her final descent."

Aaron composed the music for this sound piece for BBC Radio 3. Often blurring the boundaries between sound design and music, he worked on a score based of constantly falling themes. He wanted to create a sound world that was at once cold and oppressive, and peaceful and beautiful. Jump blue was nominated for Best Single Drama at the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2017.
